Trainings on trauma-informed approaches are underway

With assistance from the European Union and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), LEPL Legal Aid Service (LAS) held trainings on the subject of "Trauma-Based Approach" in Kutaisi on January 26–27, 2026, and in Batumi on January 28–29, 2026.
Lawyers and staff from the Legal Aid Service bureaus who deal with children and other vulnerable populations on a daily basis attended the trainings.
The nature of trauma, its neurobiological and psychological effects on children's behaviour, communication, and legal decision-making, as well as the fundamental ideas of the trauma-based approach and their real-world implementation, were all thoroughly explained to the participants.
A particular focus of the trainings was the establishment of a child-friendly, secure, and nurturing atmosphere, which guarantees efficient legal help and safeguards the child's best interests.
