Otar Chakhunashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service, and Paata Salia, Minister of Justice, discussed issues of inter-agency cooperation during an introductory meeting.
The meeting highlighted the successful collaboration between the agencies within projects including systematic land registration, raising legal awareness among probationers and parolees, or monitoring the human rights condition of convicts in penitentiary institutions.
The Director of the Legal Aid Service briefed the Minister of Justice, and Giorgi Pataridze, the Head of the Special Penitentiary Service, on the agency's future objectives.
The parties agreed on specific areas for strengthening their cooperation, which will focus on further upgraiding human rights protection standards.
