Otar Chakhunashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service (LAS), and Lika Kobaladze, First Deputy Director, met with Irina Japaridze, UN Women Programme Manager, and Salome Ichkiti, Programme Analyst.
During the introductory meeting, the parties reviewed existing joint initiatives aimed at protecting women's rights, and focused on deepening future partnership in this respect.
The Legal Aid Service actively defends victims of domestic abuse and violence against women. To this end, with the support of partners, public defenders completed a specialized training course, which will make their work even more effective in protecting women's constitutional rights and safety.
The parties decided to keep working closely together in this regard.
