The Legal Aid Service (LAS) representatives paid a visit at Sokhumi State University on October 23, 2025.
A memorandum of cooperation signed by the Director of the Legal Aid Service, David Simonia and Sukhumi State University's Rector, Tea Jugheli, specifies that the parties will work together through information campaigns meant to retrain students, foster practical skills, and increase public”s legal awareness.
After signing the memorandum, David Simonia met with professors and students, explained the Legal Aid Service operation specifics, and gave a presentation on the "Paralegals" project, which entails retraining novice solicitors and non-attorneys and has been successfully carried out by LAS for a number of years. The idea piqued the pupils' curiosity, and they expressed their readiness to participate in it.
