On April 1, 2026, the Legal Aid Service ( LAS) Consultation Center conducted a field mission to Lower Svaneti. Maia Khvadagiani and Ina Meladze, consultants from the Kutaisi Legal Aid Bureau, held meetings with residents of the villages of Sasashi and Zhakhunderi in the Lentekhi Municipality. The legal experts informed locals about the various services provided by the Legal Aid Service and conducted individual consultations on legal matters such as systematic land registration, inheritance, timber regulations, and social assistance eligibility. The meetings were joined by Nino Urtmelidze, a consultant from the Tsageri and Lentekhi Consultation Center, who provides weekly legal counsel at the local office (24 Tamar Mepe St., Lentekhi). For residents of other Lower Svaneti villages facing mobility challenges, the Legal Aid Service offers a Mobile Consultation Center, ensuring access to individual and confidential legal advice. This campaign is implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Germany.
