The LAS Zugdidi bureau lawyer, Marine Mikava defended an IDP from Abkhazia, minor Enrike Ts. who was serving a 3-year conditional sentence for committing a group robbery.
While registering in the probation bureau, Enrike Ts. was explained his rights and responsibilities. However, the minor violated the regime of appearing at the probation bureau several times. For this reason, the head of the bureau applied to the court with a motion to cancel the conditional sentence.
The public attorney, Marine Mikava was appointed for Enrike Ts. She presented evidences to the court that violation of the regime by the minor was not caused by non-fulfillment of the imposed responsibility. The attorney made focus on the fact that it was inadmissible to place the minor at the penitentiary institution.
Finally, the court did not satisfy the motion of the head of probation bureau and Enrike Ts. continued to serve the conditional sentence in a manner it was established for him.
