On April 12, in the LAS Poti Legal Aid Bureau, a meeting was held with representatives of the cultural-humanitarian fund – Sukhumi. The existing situation regarding protection of rights of women and IDPs was discussed at the meeting.
The representatives of Sukhumi talked about the activity of Women Support Center. The LAS employees informed the guests about criteria necessary for receiving state ensured free legal aid.
The participants made decision that two organizations will start active cooperation in the field of protection of rights of women and IDPs. In particular, if needed, the parties will redirect to each other the beneficiaries with legal problems.
The legal aid bureaus periodically carry out similar meetings with non-governmental organizations which promotes raising of public awareness of the citizens about state ensured free legal aid.
