On September 19, 2018, head of the LAS Samegrelo-Zugdidi Bureau Roman Keidia, consultant Nino Minjia and chief of the non-governmental organization “Legal Protection Institute” Irakli Avaliani held a meeting with the IDP population of Zghvaia settlement, Tsalenjikha municipality.
The lawyers informed IDPs about the LAS services, legal problems of IDPs, social allowance and programs for IDPs; administrative-legal acts; facts of legal importance; problems related to land legalization, registration and privatization of property; registration of the unified database of the socially vulnerable families, procedure of appointment of a state pension, inheritance, violence against women and domestic violence, etc.
The non-governmental organization “Legal Protection Institute” is a member of “Legal Aid Consortium” (LAG) that works on IDPs issues and which has a memorandum of understanding with Legal Aid Service.
The aim of the meeting was to make cooperation between these two organizations more multilateral and comprehensive with a purpose to render assistance to citizens.
The lawyers distributed information brochures to attendees and delivered individual consultations.
