Zugdidi Legal Aid Bureau was contacted by a socially vulnerable person, S.G., a support recipient and the mother of a child with disabilities. As public lawyer Natia Kvartskhava found out, back in 2019, in order to receive a certain amount of money, the beneficiary signed a real estate purchase agreement with N.V. with the right to redeem, based on which not only S.G., but also her child and family members would forfeit their rights to the real estate.
G.K., the sponsor of the recipient S.G., disagreed with this ruling. In an appeal to Zugdidi District Court, attorney Natia Kvartskhava asked for the contract to be ruled void.
Furthermore, the so-called "buyer" did not give any money to the beneficiary, S.G., following its execution.
Zugdidi District Court's ruling nullified the purchase agreement and mandated that citizen N. V. pay the sum owed to the Legal Aid Service (LAS).
