On December 7, the LAS Ozurgeti Consultation Center employees organized the meeting with the representatives of the local self-administration, non-governmental organizations, public schools and media, as a part of the global campaign dedicated to “Violence against Women and Domestic Violence”.
The consultant Ia Memarnishvili introduced the guests with the essence of domestic violence, forms of domestic violence, who is a perpetrator and a victim, reveal of cases of domestic violence and mechanisms for protection of women. Moreover, she spoke about the international treaties and local legislative acts which envisage protection of the victims. During the discussion, the participants of the meeting spoke about the situation at schools. Bulling was underlined to be one of the crucial problems among the pupils. The teachers asked the public attorneys to carry out the similar meetings at the educational institutions and inform the youth about various legal issues.
