The LAS Mtskheta-Mtianeti Bureau lawyers held information meeting at Tserovani IDPs settlement.
The IDP women who gathered at the local House of Culture got familiar with rights of the victims of domestic violence and the criminal liability for perpetrator envisaged by the law.
The focus was made to criteria necessary for receiving free legal aid, as well as to the legislative provision which enables the victims of domestic violence to enjoy the free advocacy service if they are registered in the unified database of the socially vulnerable families and meet the insolvency criteria.
The LAS bureaus periodically carry out information meetings in the IDPs settlements. One of the priorities of Legal Aid Service is to raise legal awareness of the society regarding the domestic violence issues.
