On November 1, 2018, head of the LAS Samegrelo-Zugdidi Bureau Roman Keidia, the lawyer Natia Kvartskhava and the head of NGO Legal Protection Institute Irakli Avaliani visited internally displaced people residing in Akhalabastumani village, Zugdidi municipality.
The lawyers informed the IDPs about the LAS services, social allowance and programs, administrative-legal acts on land and property registration, privatization issues; registration in the unified database of the socially vulnerable families, the appointment of the state pension; inheritance; violence against women and domestic violence, etc. IDPs received individual consultations and got information brochures.
It is worth to mention that the non-governmental organization Legal Protection Institute which works on IDPs issues belongs to Consortium LAG. The latter has a memorandum of cooperation with Legal Aid Service.
The participants of the workshop hope that cooperation between Legal Aid Service and Legal Protection Institute will become more intense and multilateral to render assistance to citizens.
