On November 22, the Legal Aid Service was visited by Washington State Prosecutor David Martin, who specializes in domestic violence. The visit was organized by the US Embassy.
The guest shared his experience and views with the attorneys and administration representatives of the Tbilisi Legal Aid Bureau through a specially prepared presentation. In David Martin’s view, in order to improve the efficiency of the justice process, it is necessary to find alternative forms of sentencing. In the case of domestic violence, it is particularly efficient to use a diversion mechanism.
The attorneys also shared their experience with the guest and received his comprehensive answers to their practical questions.
