Legal Aid Service Was Nominated As One of the Transparent Organizations

Legal Aid Service is one of the accountable and transparent public organizations. This became known from the annual report on the public information accessibility which was presented by IDFI today. The representatives of state, international and non-governmental, as well as media organizations attended presentation of the report.

In the framework of the monitoring carried out in 2014, with demand of the information, IDFI applied to Legal Aid Service 10 times and each time they received timely and full information. With these results, Legal Aid Service was placed among those 38 public agencies which provided 100% accessibility of public information. Because of provision of high quality of transparency, today, the Director of IDFI, Giorgi Kldiashvili granted a special award to Meliton Benidze, the director of Legal Aid Service.

In order to establish the quality of transparency of the public institutions, from 2010, IDFI periodically addresses LEPLs and local administration bodies to request public information. After this they process received data and place them at opendata.ge. The project is supported by Open Society – Georgia.
