Memorandum was Signed with Human Rights Committee

On September 27, director of Legal Aid Service Meliton Benidze and chairperson of Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee Sophio Kiladze signed the memorandum of cooperation.

The Parliament committee receives citizens, reviews letters and responds to them accordingly. After interacting with the population, need for legal assistance was revealed. Legal Aid Service renders free legal services on the basis of the determined criteria established by the law.

The memorandum enhances coordination between Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee and Legal Aid Service. If needed, the Parliament will direct citizens and at the LAS legal aid bureaus beneficiaries will receive necessary legal assistance which is legal consultations, advocacy representation and preparation of legal documentation for socially vulnerable people.

The parties of the memorandum noted that with joint effort it is possible to offer qualified legal services to the Georgian citizens as well as to the stateless people and foreigners.
