A meeting was held with the population of the village of Deliphi

Today, on April 20, a meeting was held with the representatives of ethnic minorities in the village of Delif, Ninotsminda Municipality. The event is part of a joint information campaign of the Office of the State Minister for Legal Aid and the Office of Reconciliation and Civic Equality, which aims to raise the legal awareness of representatives of ethnic minorities in Georgia. The project is supported by USAID-ProLog, PITA and UNAG. Residents of Delphi received comprehensive information on free legal aid and other services provided by the state.

The presentation was made by young people from ethnic minorities who had been pre-trained by lawyers from the Legal Aid Service.

Individual legal advice was provided by Inga Gvaramadze, a consultant with the Akhalkalaki Legal Aid Bureau, who said that the people of Ninotsminda Municipality are in particular need of free legal aid, as the region is territorially far from both the regional center and the nearest Legal Aid Office. Therefore, there is a great demand among the population for lawyers who will periodically visit Ninotsminda and  the villages of its municipality and provide individual consultations to the population free of charge.

The campaign will continue in other regions populated by ethnic minorities.
