Senaki community met with legal aid service

On May 19, In Senaki, at the hotel “Versali”,  the Legal Aid Service (LAS) held a meeting with the representatives of the Senaki  City Hall, the Municipality Administration, the Municipal Assembly, and social services, non-governmental organizations, and the education sector.

 In his presentation, Director of the Legal Aid Service Razhden Kuprashvili introduced the public to the LAS services, the issues of violence against women and domestic violence, the Code of the Rights of the Child and juvenile justice, the rights of persons with disabilities, directly protected by public attorneys.

 The second part of the event was dedicated to the presentation of the Service new project "Paralegals". Samegrelo is the first region where the “ “Paralegals Registry” formation has been launched. The "Paralegals" project will unite the representatives of the society who are not lawyers by profession, but will receive special training in legal issues, organized by the Legal Aid Service; as well as will have the opportunity to provide the first aid to relatives, neighbors, friends - all interested people who will apply to them. 

The meetings in Samegrelo are carried out within the framework of the legal aid awareness-raising campaign by the LAS - the "Make the Law Accessible to All" movement. The campaign is supported by the Council of Europe (COE).
