The case of separation of children was resolved in the Mtskheta District Court in favour of the beneficiary, taking into account the position of the attorney

The social worker of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Center of the Agency for State Care and Assistance for the Victims of Human Trafficking appealed to the Mtskheta District Court regarding the separation of three minors from their mother and extension of  their stay in a small family-type house.
Mtskheta Legal Aid Bureau attorney, Natia Berdzenishvili became involved in the case.

N. Berndzenishvili interviewed  the children, reviewed the petition, and heard the social worker's arguments. She concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support the exploitation of such an extreme  measure, stating that children should not be separated  against their will unless it is in their best interests, which the agency was unable to prove.

Consequently, the Mtskheta District Court denied the social worker's petition from the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Centre of the State Care and Assistance for the Victims of Human Trafficking, considering the lawyer's stance that the children should not be separated from their mother. As a result of the court's ruling, three  children were relocated from a small family-style home to live with their mother.

The Mtskheta District Court's ruling was challenged by the agency to the Tbilisi Court of Appeal, where it was denied.

We wish Natia Berdzenishvili luck in her future endeavours and congratulate her for winning the lawsuit.
