Sofia Jolokhava, an attorney of Tbilisi Legal Aid Bureau, prepared an application for a single mother of two minor children, seeking to get the status of a "homeless person", and filed a lawsuit to the court. Throughout the trial, the lawyer focused on the needs of the children, their best interests, and the family's income and expenses, emphasizing also the improper assessment of the actual circumstances by the Tbilisi City Hall, as an administrative body.
The court of first instance, by its decision of June 11, 2024, completely shared the defense side argument and satisfied the claim. Accordingly, the plaintiffs had the opportunity to register as homeless persons. The administrative body is obliged to grant the beneficiaries with temporary access to the premises.
