Second Stage of Recruitment of Lawyers with Specialization in Civil Law

Legal Aid Service started rendering free advocacy service on civil and administrative law cases last year. The Service is recruiting the second flow of lawyers with specialization in civil law through the competition. As a part of the recruitment, today, the second stage of the competition – a testing took place at the Training Center of Justice.

More than 180 lawyers applied for 18 vacant places. Among them 87 applicants were admitted at the testing. The candidates with higher scores will be invited to the interview which is the third stage of the competition. As a result of the interview, 5 lawyers will be selected and employed at the LAS Tbilisi Legal Aid Bureau. 2 lawyers will be added at Rustavi Bureau and 2 lawyers – at Kutaisi Bureau, one lawyer with specialization in civil law will be employed at each 9 bureaus.

The lawyers with specialization in civil law will provide free legal aid on family and inheritance disputes, as well as on social allowance, pension and rights of IDPs. They will also carry out compulsory protection of the persons with psycho-social needs, as well as will provide court representation to foreigners whose cases regarding granting-suspension of an asylum or humanitarian status are under consideration at the court.

Legal Aid Service employed the first flow of lawyers with specialization in civil law in April, 2015 after the amendments made to the legislation gave insolvent citizens the opportunity receive free advocacy service not only on criminal, but also on civil and administrative cases too.

Legal Aid Service provides citizens with free advocacy service and legal consultations throughout the country. The LAS bureaus and consultation centers operate in 19 cities of Georgia.
