Kakheti-Telavi Bureau Employees Visited Kists in Jokolo Village

What is violence against women and domestic violence, what legal mechanisms exist for victims of violence, who and how should they apply for assistance – these were topics of the meeting held by the LAS Kakheti-Telavi Bureau employees on November 30, in Jokolo village, Akhmeta district, Pankisi Gorge. The public lawyers Aleksi Tusniashvili, Tamar Batselashvili, Liana Tchuniashvili met with the pupils of higher classes of the Jokolo village public school and employees of the local territorial body (28 participants attended the event). The attendees watched the documentary “Raise Your Voice” prepared by the UN Women.
Besides, the pupils and the attendees got introduced with the specifics of work of Legal Aid Service, received answers to the questions regarding marriage and family disputes. They also received the LAS brochures.
It is worth to mention that the village is mostly settled by the Kists.
