Contest for Selecting Program Participant Students in Adjara region

The movement: "Make Justice Accessible for All: Paralegal Initiative and Career Talks

The Legal Aid Service (LAS) and the USAID Rule of Law Program, though the Batumi Rule of Law Hub, are announcing a contest for selecting students to participate in the informational program - Make Justice Accessible for All: Paralegal Initiative and Career Talks.

This initiative will help students/people living in Adjara to deepen their legal knowledge (especially on women's rights, child’s rights, and human trafficking) to better protect their rights.

Who can participate in the program?

The program is designed for third- and fourth-year students of private and public higher education institutions of the Adjara region, who are currently studying at: law, international law, international relations, political and social sciences, or other/related faculties.

The program consists of two stages:

  • Phase I includes training of the selected students on child rights, human trafficking, and women's rights, as well as informational career talks with judges, practicing lawyers, and civil society representatives on issues such as: requirements and criteria for entry into the profession, skills required for successful professional careers, challenges to the profession, and the need for and importance of continuing education.

  • Phase II involves getting acquainted with the informational materials prepared after the training and conducting mobile visits to the people of Adjara under the guidance of the Adjara Bureau of the Legal Aid Service. During the visit, students and lawyers (depending on the topic of the training) will provide consultations on important legal issues for the population.

These activities will be implemented in June-August 2022. Upon successful completion of the program, participating students will be awarded with certificates.
