The annual report of the service was heard at the Legal Affairs Committee

On September 18, at the meeting of the Legal Issues  Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, the Director of the Legal Aid Service, Razhden Kuprashvili, gave a report on Legal Aid Service activities for the years 2020-2021.  The report includes statistical data about the legal proceedings, conducted by public attorneys and consultants over the previous year,  the administration’s reform initiatives and their implementations, and other activities.

As  R.Kuprashvili  noted,  in 2021, the Legal Aid Service handled  17 442 cases; provided  24 369 consultations;  compiled 1 454 legal documents.
To broaden territorial access to free legal aid, in 2021  five consulting centers were launched: in Dedoplistskaro, Akhmeta, Lentekhi, Oni, and Khashuri.
Artificial intelligence is currently being implemented in the legal system.

The mobile application LAS Georgia has been created, allowing owners of all types of mobile phones to receive legal assistance over the phone while maintaining their privacy.

At this stage, with the help of the application, it is possible to interview a lawyer about the Code on the Rights of the  Child, violence against women, and domestic violence, as well as torture and inhuman treatment.

A number of Important projects were carried out in order to raise public awareness of the Law: on June 11, 2021, representatives of various agencies signed a declaration "Make the law accessible to Law", laying the foundation for the movement to increase legal awareness in society.
In the light of the project, numerous meetings were held and mock trials were organized across the country.

Donor support keeps our movement going. In concluding his report, Razhden Kuprashvili answered the Committee members’ questions.
