Socially Vulnerable Pensioner Could Register Inheritance

On August 1, 2016, the law that simplifies land registration procedure and makes it available for citizens entered into force. The aim of the legislative amendments is to eradicate those difficulties that the land owners faced while registering their immovable property. Legal Aid Service rendered legal assistance to more than two thousand people after the law had been enacted. One of them is a resident of Senaki, the socially vulnerable pensioner L.B. who applied to the LAS Samegrelo-Zugdidi Bureau for assistance. She could not register the inheritance of her deceased husband. As it turned out the client was not able to receive the inherence because the terms of registration were expired. The notary bureau was not able to assist in the framework of the state reform of land registration.

The consultant Nino Minjia collected all necessary documents, drafted the application and submitted it to the court.

Zugdidi District Court satisfied the demand of the Bureau consultant. Thus, the client L.B. got opportunity to address the notary bureau again to get the inheritance. In April, the public registry registered her husband’s registry in the framework of the state land reform.

It is worth to mention, that the term of the state project ends on July 1, 2018. Until that time citizens have opportunity to register their immovable property.

All bureaus and consultation centers of Legal Aid Service across the country are ready to render appropriate services as a part of the land reform.
