In Borjomi, the training of the representatives of the network of providers of free legal directions was conducted

On December 6-8, 2023, in Borjomi, with the support of the United Nations Development Program and the German Government, as part  of the project "Improving the Rule of Law and Access to Justice for All", in Borjomi, a training session on personal data protection was held for representatives of the free legal aid providers’ network.

The training was led by field experts Tamar Kaldani and Londa Toloraya. Along with staff members from regional bureaus and the Legal Aid Service Administration, attendees of the seminar included representatives of non-governmental organisations and legal clinics that actively participate in the operations of the referral network.

The trainers reviewed issues such as: the essence and meaning of the right to personal data protection, international, regional and national legal instruments for data protection, basic terms in the field of data protection, principles of data processing, video surveillance and audio monitoring, data protection in labor relations, biometric data processing, lawyers and guidelines prepared by law enforcement agencies on personal data processing in the course of legal proceedings and others.
Under the auspices of the UNDP's "Improving the Rule of Law and Access to Justice for All" initiative, the German government and the Network of Free Legal Aid Providers   have updated the https://freelaw.ge portal.  It is intended for people who, at this point, lack the funds to retain legal counsel and are searching for organizations that offer free  legal assistance.
