A panel discussion was held at Zugdidi University with the participation of paralegals

On March 7, a panel discussion  "Challenges Related to the Protection of Women's Rights at the Local Level" took place at  the Zugdidi Shota Meskhia State University.

Irina Lortkipanidze, Regional Adviser on Rule of Law of the USAID Rule of Law Program, opened the meeting and addressed the audience with a welcome speech. The speakers for the audience included   the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health of Zugdidi University, Nino Makatsaria, Head of Analytical and International Relations Department of the Legal Aid Service , Maya Nozadze,  and Head of the Zugdidi Legal Aid Service Bureau,  Roman Keydia.

Gogi Revia, Head of the Department of Social Protection and Gender Equality of the Zugdidi Municipality City Hall, Natia Bojgua, Head of the Poti Legal Aid Service Bureau,  and Nika Gogia,  the representative of the Association of Young Lawyers of Georgia, Zugdidi Branch,   all reported to the panel, giving the attendees a thorough understanding of the challenges  and current practices  at the local level. Mariam Burkadze, the Head  of the Legal Aid Service Training Centre, moderated the discussion.

Upon concluding the conference, paralegal Ia Gorgadze gave a public an overview of the activities undertaken as part of thee "Paralegal" initiative, notably, the nationwide awareness-raising campaign for women's rights.
