Paralegals took part in a mock trial, which was held in the Batumi City Court

On December 10, on the day of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a mock trial was held in the Batumi City Court, as part of the project "Let's make the Law accessible to All", run by Legal Aid Service and the USAID Rule of Law Program. This time the Court discussed a civil law case.  Batumi City Court Judges Khatuna Bolkvadze and Guliko Kazhashvili, the  USAID Rule of Law Program expert, and American Justice James Redwine participated in the process. The priority of delivering the verdict as jurors were given to paralegals - Batumi students who have received specialized training in legal issues and are already able to provide primary legal assistance.

The parties were represented by the attorneys of the LAS  Nato Iremadze and Akaki Lomsadze, and  Sofio Menabdishvili,  a lawyer of the International Partnership for Human Rights. At the end of the trial, the paralegals were split into two groups, which was followed by a  verdict discussion. At the event's completion, paralegals received special certificates.
