On August 14, 2023, Director of the Legal Aid Service, David Simonia, met with the head of the New York-based law firm Julian Henry Lowenfeld, and the Georgian attorneys working for the bureau, Diana and Teimuraz Kutateladze.
The hosts introduced David Simonia to the free legal aid system operating in the United States, which entails implementation of social projects by private law firms.
It was pointed out that dozens of Georgian immigrants have benefited from the services of Julian Lowenfeld's company. It was decided to strengthen agency collaboration, and actively include Georgian paralegals in the effort to increase the accessibility of free legal services for immigrants.
